I'm Shadi Shami, founder of ARDITO Fuel Coffee and a registered nurse based in Dearborn, Michigan. I started roasting because I couldn't find coffee that was truly fresh, clean, and intentional. What began as a personal solution became a small-batch specialty coffee company built around one standard: every bag should be handled with the same care I bring to my work in healthcare.
How It Started
It began with my wife. She's also a registered nurse, and coffee is one of her daily rituals. She introduced me to espresso, a small volume with a big impact. We bought an espresso machine, and I was quickly hooked.
But finding truly fresh coffee in my community was frustrating. I was paying premium prices to large roasting companies and still not enjoying what I was drinking. Most of it had been roasted weeks or months earlier.
So I decided to learn the process myself. I bought an entry-level roaster and started experimenting. After countless late nights, mistakes, and research, I began producing coffee that felt different, cleaner, fresher, and more intentional. Friends started asking for bags. ARDITO was born from that momentum.
The Nursing Connection
As a registered nurse, people rely on me every day to make decisions that directly affect patient outcomes. That responsibility demands clarity, consistency, and attention to detail. Those same principles now guide how I source, test, and roast coffee.
Every morning begins with coffee, not out of habit, but out of intention. It's the one moment that belongs entirely to me before the demands of the day begin. That daily ritual is the reason ARDITO exists. Learn more about our story and standards.
Why I Roast Differently
Most coffee is never independently tested for mold, mycotoxins, yeast, or heavy metals. At ARDITO, every green coffee lot is independently third-party lab tested for mold, mycotoxins, yeast, and heavy metals before it enters the roastery. Only lots that pass are roasted.
We roast in small batches, print the roast date on every bag, and ship within days of roasting. There are no shortcuts and no entry-level products that skip the standard. Clean, mold-free coffee is the baseline, not a marketing claim. Shop our coffee and taste the difference.
